I attended the University of West Florida and earned a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education in 1990. In 2001, I earned a Master of Arts degree in Guidance and Counseling from University of South Florida (USF). After graduating from USF, I became a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in March 2005. In 2021 retired from my position as Professional School Counselor, in order to pursue my passion of providing mental health full time.
Thoughtful Counseling LLC is based on the strong belief that our emotions and thoughts work in unison.
The therapeutic approaches used are based on Cognitive and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy.
I am a licensed mental health counselor in the State of Florida. I am also qualified to provide supervision to mental health interns. I held a State of Florida certificate in Education (Elementary Education, Guidance and Counseling) and am certified by the American Psychotherapy Association as a Board-Certified Professional Counselor. I hold certifications in CBT, DBT, Grief and Mental Health and Nutrition. I am also a member of the National Association of Cognitive Behavioral Therapist, American Counseling Association. I have been private practice since 2005. I provide therapy in the following areas:
